About

The French Martini is a 1980s cocktail revival star that earns its enduring popularity through pure simplicity: vodka, raspberry liqueur, and pineapple juice shaken into a frothy, blush-pink drink that's sweet, fruity, and undeniably crowd-pleasing. Popularized by New York bartender Keith McNally's Balthazar restaurant in the 1990s, it became a defining drink of the decade. The pineapple juice creates a gorgeous foam when shaken, making it as visually appealing as it is easy to drink.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Vodka

Instructions

  1. Combine vodka, raspberry liqueur, and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds — the pineapple juice will create a natural foam.
  3. Fine-strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass to preserve the foam.
  4. Garnish with a fresh raspberry or a small pineapple wedge on the rim.
