The Blue Motorcycle is the electric-blue, visually arresting cousin of the Long Island Iced Tea — sharing its equal-parts-of-everything approach to spirit mixing, but swapping cola for Sprite and adding blue curaçao to create its signature azure color. Like the Long Island, it is deceptively easy to drink for a cocktail containing five different spirits: vodka, rum, gin, triple sec, and blue curaçao are shaken together with lemon juice and soda, producing a drink that looks like a colorful tropical cocktail but hits with considerably more force. It's a party cocktail in every sense — bold, fun, and not to be underestimated.
Ingredients
0.5 oz Light Rum
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Blue Curacao
0.5 oz Gin
0.5 oz Triple Sec
1 oz Club Soda
0.5 oz Vodka
Instructions
- Fill a tall glass with ice.
- Combine vodka, rum, gin, triple sec, blue curaçao, and fresh lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake briefly for 5–8 seconds.
- Strain over fresh ice in the prepared glass.
- Top with a splash of club soda for effervescence.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel or a maraschino cherry on a pick.
