Created by bartender Michael McIlroy at the legendary Milk & Honey in New York, the Greenpoint is the northernmost member of the Brooklyn neighborhood cocktail family — its siblings include the Brooklyn and the Red Hook. Named after the northernmost neighborhood of Brooklyn, it replaces maraschino (used in the Brooklyn) with yellow chartreuse, lending the drink an herbal, honeyed complexity that feels both warmer and more aromatic. Rye whiskey forms the backbone, sweet vermouth provides fruit and body, and two types of bitters round the edges. Spirit-forward, sophisticated, and endlessly rewarding.
