Captain's Blood is a bold, spirit-forward rum sour with a swashbuckling name to match its character — a drink that invokes the golden age of pirates and the rum-soaked Caribbean of legend. A sophisticated blend of spiced rum, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup, it is given depth and complexity by two bitters: Angostura for warmth and spice, and Peychaud's for a floral, anise-tinged finish. Ingredients
2 oz Spiced Rum
0.75 oz Lime Juice
2 dash Angostura Bitters
0.5 oz Simple Syrup
2 dash Peychaud's Bitters
Instructions
- Combine spiced rum, lime juice, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, and Peychaud's bitters in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over a large ice cube.
