About

The Cape Codder — also simply called a Vodka Cranberry — is one of the most beloved and iconic American bar drinks, named after the Cape Cod peninsula in Massachusetts where cranberry bogs are a way of life. It is the very definition of a perfect simple cocktail: vodka and cranberry juice, served tall over ice with a squeeze of lime, requiring nothing more than a steady hand and good ingredients. Tart, refreshing, and strikingly beautiful with its deep ruby-red color, the Cape Codder became a cultural touchstone in the 1970s and 1980s and has never really gone out of style.

Ingredients

0.5 oz Lime Juice
2 oz Vodka

Instructions

  1. Fill a tall highball glass with ice.
  2. Pour vodka over the ice.
  3. Top with cranberry juice and stir briefly to combine.
  4. Squeeze a lime wedge over the top and drop it in.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim.
