The Appletini — short for Apple Martini — is the quintessential 2000s cocktail, a bright green, candy-sweet, impossibly fun drink that dominated bars during the era and became a cultural icon largely thanks to the TV show Scrubs, whose character J.D. made it his signature order. Made with vodka, apple schnapps, and a splash of triple sec and lime, it is unabashedly sweet and apple-forward, with a vivid green hue (or pink when made with cranberry juice) that makes it as photogenic as it is delicious. Whether or not it's fashionable at any given moment, the Appletini always delivers exactly what it promises.
Instructions
- Combine vodka, apple schnapps, triple sec, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
- Fine-strain into a chilled martini glass.
- Garnish with a thin apple fan or a maraschino cherry on the rim.
